Dr Ahmad is a Consultant General and Colorectal surgeon based in the United Kingdom with extensive experience in minimally invasive techniques such as laparoscopic and robotic surgery. His special areas of clinical interest include management of constipation, faecal incontinence, rectal cancer, rectal prolapse and abdominal wall reconstruction. He has published papers on these subjects in peer-reviewed journals. He recently performed the first ever Robotic Anal Sphincter Repair and published the video vignette in colorectal disease, one of the highest impact journals in his specialty.
Dr Ahmad holds a Master of Medical Science Degree with Distinction in Cancer Studies from the University of Sheffield, UK; MB, BS (primary medical qualification) from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University for Dundee. He is a Fellow in General Surgery (FRCS Gen.Surg) of the Royal College of Surgeons of Surgeons of England.
He is currently the Clinical Lead for Colorectal Surgery at University Hospitals Dorset, UK. He has gained valuable experience in workforce management, job planning, budget setting and risk management. He has also completed a one-year Senior Leadership Development Programme.
